Riderflex, a global recruiting firm, has been engaged by our client, ART19, in their search for a Senior Software Engineer / Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer.

ART19 is seeking a passionate, seasoned Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our fast-growing team. Our ideal candidate feels strongly about leveraging emerging technologies to make a significant impact on the future of the podcast industry.

  4. Direct reports: None
  5. Type: W-2 Full-Time

Responsibilities 

  1. Architect and deploy new infrastructure
  2. Plan, implement, test, and ship new features
  3. Investigate performance issues and execute optimizations
  4. Keep abreast of the latest technologies that may be useful
  5. Work with technical stakeholders to define platform capabilities and best practices
  6. Collaboratively analyze new technology proposals
  7. Write beautiful, clean performant code 

 

Requirements 

  1. 4+ years of experience building complex web applications
  2. 4+ years of experience in Ruby, Rails, RSpec
  3. Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and Redis
  4. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
  5. Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful
  6. Understanding of design principles behind a scalable application
  7. A desire to reduce operational overhead wherever possible
  8. Implementation of automated testing platforms and unit tests
  9. Proficiency in Git and GitHub
  10. Familiarity with AWS and its various tools
  11. Familiarity with continuous integration

Preferred

  1. Experience with Nginx
  2. Experience with Redshift, Vertica, or other data warehouses
  3. Experience with Ember.js 
  4. Experience with Node.js 
  5. Experience with Terraform, Docker, Chef and other DevOps tools
  6. Interest in podcasts
